The free-spirited work of a talented designer who enjoys pushing his ideas to the extreme sometimes yields truly fascinating results. A perfect example is the latest creation by designer Rosti Prokop, who took a Škoda 100 L, drew inspiration from classic Porsches, and created something long, wide, and utterly insane.
Did you know that the Škoda 100 L was the first car to undergo a documented crash test in Czechoslovakia? The car was propelled into a wall by a steam rocket — and, remarkably, the production Škoda survived the impact at 31 mph. What the standard “hundred” definitely wouldn’t have survived, however, is the work of designer Rosti Prokop.
What we have here is an extremely unusual transformation: the Škoda 100 L has been turned into a coupe with a completely redesigned body. The car has been drastically lowered, significantly widened using carbon-fiber elements, repainted in blue, and fitted with a front bumper featuring Porsche lights. Modern exterior mirrors have also been added.
Black Advan Racing wheels are paired with Pirelli P Zero tires and sport brake discs. But the car looks even more radical from the rear: the extended tail is capped off with LED taillights, a sport exhaust system, and a massive rear wing.
The elongated rear end didn’t appear by chance. The designer once again drew inspiration from long-tail Porsches, and in the rear of the Škoda now sits an engine from an old Porsche 911 — a naturally aspirated flat-six with its unmistakable sound.
