We’ve seen plenty of vehicles fitted with engines from the GM LS family, but this 1960 Mercedes-Benz O 319 is the first of its kind.
It recently sold at a Bring a Trailer auction for $61,500.
The unique vehicle was built by M&M Specialties of Napa, California.
Under the engine cover located between the front seats sits a 6.2-liter LS3 V8.
The engine is paired with a four-speed 4L80E automatic transmission and a shortened 12-bolt rear axle with 3.08:1 final drive.
The van received independent front suspension with coil springs and power rack-and-pinion steering, while the rear uses a leaf-sprung solid axle.
The chassis was also reinforced with additional crossmembers, and the braking system was upgraded to four-wheel disc brakes.
The body is finished in a striking black and green two-tone. The bus rides on custom 18-inch front and 19-inch rear wheels wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza RE050 tires measuring 255/40 in front and a massive 345/35 in the rear.
